Maria Ball - chair

Maria lives in Hertfordshire and was formerly chair of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Ambulance and Paramedic NHS Trust.

Hayden Newton - chief executive

A former manager at Peterborough ambulance station, Hayden moved to Scotland before returning to England as Director of Performance for the Beds and Herts Ambulance Service.

Sandy Spencer - chief operating officer

Sandy joined the Trust as chief operating officer for an initial six month period on November 1, 2008.

Dr John Scott - medical director

A Glaswegian by birth, John obtained his medical degree from St Andrews University in 1970.

Seamus Elliott - HR director

Seamus began his career as a theatre porter, then became a chargehand porter before moving into hospital management.

Oskan Edwardson - director of operations

Oskan started his career in the then Hertfordshire Ambulance Service in 1988.

Joanna Yellon - director of business development

Joanna trained as a nurse at Addenbrooke's Hospital and spent most of her clinical career as a theatre sister.

Chris Preston - finance director

Chris joined the Trust in October 2008.

Murray Bain - chief information officer

Murray took up his post in July 2008, and is responsible for information management and information and communications technology.

Caroline Bailes - non executive director

Caroline, who lives in St Albans, Hertfordshire, already has extensive experience of the workings of a boardroom through her job as Head of Corporate Development and Intelligence with the Guardian Media Group.

Paula Grayson - non executive director

Paula is a Chartered Companion of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a past Vice President, and works with them on local and national groups.

Paul Remington - non executive director

Paul, who lives in Ely, Cambridgeshire, already has experience of being a non executive director having been on the Board of the East Anglian Ambulance Trust.

Jagtar Singh - non executive director

Jagtar, who now lives in Biddenham, Bedfordshire, was born in the Punjab India and came to England in 1961.
