Man seriously injured following A130 RTC

Two people were taken to hospital following an RTC on the north-bound A130 near the Battlesbridge junction on Saturday.

The ambulance service was called to the scene at 1.38pm and two crews, a BASICs doctor and the air ambulance were dispatched.

An ambulance service spokesperson said: "Emergency services worked to free the trapped 42-year-old male passenger, who had suffered a serious chest injury. He was given pain relief and made as comfortable as possible then taken to Basildon Hospital for further care.

"The driver, a 46-year-old woman, was able to leave the car unaided. On assessment, it appeared she suffered suspected head and left arm injuries and was taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford."
