Minor injuries following overturned lorry at Rayleigh Spur
A lorry driver escaped with minor injuries after his vehicle overturned on the slip road of the A130 towards Sadlers Farm at the Rayleigh Spur last night.
The ambulance service was called to the scene just before 10.50pm, and a Rayleigh crew were dispatched.
Paramedic Dave Francis said: "The incident involved a five axle wheeled lorry containing apples whose load slipped.
"The driver, a 27-year-old man from Grays, suffered a minor head and back injury and was able to get out of the lorry with the assistance of members of the public. He was then taken to Basildon Hospital for further assessment."
It is understood the slip road was closed for several hours while the lorry was recovered.
