Courier transport service
Our Courier Transport Service (CTS) team delivers a high quality service to the health economy, transporting medical records, pathology samples, sterile equipment, clinical waste and, in some areas, doctors, nurses and clerical staff across much of our region.
Their work is integral to the smooth running of healthcare in the area.
Developments within CTS have been brought about by changes in environmental legislation which impacts on the transportation of clinical waste.
This has required further training for a number of drivers in the transportation of hazardous waste, and the creation of a new post of Waste Manager to ensure both the Trust and its customers comply with the new legislation.
The quality of service provided has been recognised with the award of the ISO9001:2000 accreditation. The process required to attain this award will ensure that the service continues to meet the needs of its customers.
